The International Netball Federation (INF) and Netball Australia have confirmed that Sydney will host the 2027 Netball World Cup.
In conjunction with Australian netball’s centenary celebrations, 16 national teams will compete for the title of world champion.
As part of its ambitious ten world cups in ten years initiative, this is the ninth world cup to be awarded by New South Wales (NSW).
In 2018, the NSW government announced plans to attract major sporting events to the state over the next decade, including the Rugby World Cup, the Fifa Women’s World Cup and the ATP Tennis World Cup.
The post-tournament legacy was a key component of Australia’s bid to secure the Netball World Cup, which it claims will benefit women and girls both inside and outside of netball.
Cape Town, South Africa will host the 2023 Netball World Cup from 17th July to 8th August.
