Netball world cup 2023 will be streamed live by BBC in South Africa

The BBC will broadcast the first match of the Netball World Cup as the England Roses face Barbados along with whole tournament.

BBC has confirmed that they will broadcast the 2023 Netball World Cup, which will be played in South Africa. Sky will have the television rights for the opening weekend of the tournament.

Speaking about the announcement, director of BBC Sport, Barbara Slater, said: “We are delighted to be showcasing the Netball World Cup 2023 free to air across the BBC.

“As a big supporter of women’s sport, we want to bring it to the widest audience possible. With great home nation representation , we’re hoping for plenty of drama and memorable matches.”

During the tournament, which starts in Cape Town on Friday 28 July, England will face Barbados, Scotland will face Malawi, and Wales will face the hosts.

In a dramatic final four years ago, New Zealand beat 11-time winners Australia to win the Netball World Cup. In 2022, England failed to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games and finished third, so they will hope to bounce back.
